Referee Appointed by Guilford County Superior Court

Summerfield, NC – The Guilford County Superior Court has entered an order appointing a referee to assist with the identification and return of public records from a prior Town administration. The order was entered by the Court on September 21, 2026, and is a matter of public record.

The Court stated that the referee is “to receive a complete accounting of the universe of potentially responsive records and the accounts, devices, storage media, and other locations in which those materials may be located, so that all such materials may be reviewed and either returned to the Town Clerk or addressed by further order of the Court.”

The Town is committed to the recovery and proper custodianship of all public records belonging to the people of Summerfield and looks forward to working cooperatively with the referee in this process.
