When:Upcoming Fair Housing Training and Joint Meeting
As we prepare to update the Town’s Unified Development Ordinance and Comprehensive Land Use Plan, the Town is excited to announce that Hope Williams, an attorney with Legal Aid of North Carolina, will be leading training during a joint meeting of the Town Council, Planning Board, and Board of Adjustment on Monday, September 28. The training is intended to help participants (i) understand Fair Housing laws and regulations, including the processes, policies, and procedures that can be used to promote housing issues within the community, and (ii) develop the practical skills necessary to identify and eliminate barriers to housing in Summerfield.
Although only the Town’s elected and appointed officials will be able to participate in the training, we encourage the public to attend. The meeting will be held in the Summerfield Community Center. Dinner will be served at 5:00 PM to all attendees who RSVP, and the meeting will begin at 5:30 PM.
Please RSVP to the Town Clerk at clerk@summerfieldnc.gov by Wednesday, September 23, 2026, so that we can plan accordingly for dinner.
